Syafira’s parents felt the benefits of simply getting more information about their child’s condition
Syafira joined LombokCare in July 2021 when she was 10 months old with complaints that she could not tilt her body to the left and right. Her parents, Muzammil & Raodatul Jannah, got information about LombokCare from one of the cadres at the village integrated healthcare center. Of course, they were enthusiastic considering the fact that LombokCare is very close to their house. Prior to her treatment at LombokCare, Syafira’s parents had tried various methods, including traditional massage. They were also advised to go to the hospital but were hindered by the expensive costs since they were not insured.

Shortly after joining LombokCare, her parents got a lot of information regarding Syafira’s condition, including exercises that can be done independently at home. Seeing the tendency of stiffness in Syafira’s body, the therapist encouraged the parents to do a complete examination at the hospital. The social worker also recommended that Syafira’s parents immediately take care of BPJS insurance in order to facilitate the examination without having to incur more costs, considering that Syafira’s parents work as retail tobacco traders on a daily basis.

Without a doubt, Muzzamil immediately took care of his daughters needs so that they could carry out an examination. Indeed, the time it took was not short, the process took several weeks until they finally got some results. Syafira had done an EEG and CT scan of the brain and results showed that there is a disturbance in the central nervous system and on top of that they noticed some kind of virus in the brain that may have been there since in the womb. The doctor also said that Syafira had both Microcephaly, Cerebral Palsy, and Epilepsy, so she was put on medication and besides that she was encouraged to participate in regular therapy.
This story shows that both early detection, simple information and positive support from the child’s environment have a huge impact on the steps taken by parents for their children.
With this knowledge, parents became more enthusiastic about trying the best for their child. Moreover, Syafira’s age, which is still within golden age, allows her to catch up as long as her parents, have a strong commitment to Syafira’s treatment plan.
