– We support children with a ‘dis’ability –

Because we want to put an end on their social isolation due to
prejudice, stigma and an overall lack of knowledge about disabilities.

In other words, by giving children with a disability the opportunity to work on their physical as wel educational development, we targeting to create a bigger chance for these children to become “READY” to take “ACTION” to participate in the society to their fullest potentials

Rehabilitation

Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Group Therapy are the base of our efforts to create progress in the development of approx 170 children annually. In every therapy session conducted in our ‘Bale Terapi’, we place the emphasis on the parent involvement as the main key in the child’s development progress.

Education

Our Special School ‘Pelangi LombokCare is combating the elimination of inequalities in education which are still a commen issue in Lombok. Our teachers are giving full attention to their capabilities, interests and talents instead of focussing on a disability. After all, the world needs all kinds of minds, they colour a rainbow of possibilities.

Other Child Supporting Projects

Clubfoot Project

A child born with a clubfoot should not become permanently physical disabled. Though worldwide there are still so many clubfoot-cases being left untreated, so is the case in Lombok. We are striving to support these children and their families to get the treatment they need.

Nutrition

Nutrition is very important in the stage of child development. Fulfilment of useful nutrients as a source of energy and immune processes is a basic necessity which many families can’t live up to due to socio-economic circumstances.

Therapeutic AIDS & Mobility Tools

Accessibility is one of the many issues children with a disability have to face. Finding suitable wheelchairs, walkers, orthetics and prosthetics and therapeutic materials in Lombok is like searching for a needle in a haystack, though this doesn’t make the tools and aids less needed.

Out Reach

Our Out Reach Rehabilitation Program is set up to reach out to children in rural and remote villages who have no possibilities to reach our foundation. Real, sustainable community change requires the initiative and engagement of community members.

Vocational Skills

Our Vocational Skills Program is focused on providing training and new skills for children or young adults  with a disability which they can use to actively participate in society. LombokCare’s Vocational Skills include crafting, computer, painting, sewing, cooking, farming and more.

Medical Support

The majority of children with disabilities have a history of congenital diseases or are susceptible to diseases that can hinder development and even worsen the child’s condition. Our team does not hesitate to provide assistance and decrease the burden for those special cases.

– We empower their families –

Parents are the main keys in these children’s’ lives. Children should not be separated from their parents unless they are not being properly looked after. Our goal is to empower their parents with the knowledge and skills they need in order for them to support and guide their child in their  physical, mental, spiritual and educational development.

Projects For Their Families
